CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Day 3 of the 2026 Mountain East Conference Baseball Tournament saw Charleston, Frostburg State, and Glenville State all pickup wins as they contuine to batlle fof the 2026 Tournament Championship on Friday from GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia.
Game 5 - #2S Charleston def. #3S Glenville State, 5-4
Charleston’s Collin Kemp would hit a walk off double to right center field to keep the Golden Eagles alive in the 2026 MEC Baseball Tournament as they defeated the Glenville State Pioneers, 5-4.
Charleston tallied seven hits in the contest with three errors. Glenville State had six hits and two errors.
Glenville State and Charleston were tied at 1-1 most of the ballgame until UC took a one run lead in the seventh, 2-1. GSU answered back in the eight and ninth innings scoring three runs as they now led, 4-2.
However, in the bottom of the ninth UC would score three runs to win it.
Collin Kemp went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and the walk off hit for the Golden Eagles while Andrew Kobryn went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jaeden Peterson (3-2) earned the win on the mound allowing one earned run and struck out two batters.
Glenville State’s Zach Laurie went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Pioneers had two other players record RBIs in the game. Ashton Crace (1-2) pitched 0.2 innings while giving up two earned runs with one strike out.
Game 6 - #2N Frostburg State def. #3N Point Park, 14-8

Frostburg State’s bats stayed hot in game six of the MEC Baseball tournament on Friday, defeating Point Park 14-8 at GoMart Ballpark.
Led by a big afternoon from the middle of their lineup, Frostburg State improved to 36-16 on the year, while Point Park fell to 30-20. Frostburg State will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Point Park will play again this evening against Glenville State in an elimination game.
Bryce Bauer (5-1) earned the win on the hill for Frostburg St. striking out five batters over six innings and five earned runs. The loss went to Harold Boyce (9-4) who gave up nine runs in four innings of work.
The quartet of Jackson Schalick (3-5), Jake Holler (3-4), Drew Jourdan (4-6), and Ryan Bouma (5-5) finished a combined 15-for-20 and drove in a staggering 13 RBI.
The Bobcats scored multiple runs in three of the first four innings to seize control early, including the top of the first inning where they plated three runs on a pair of two-out RBI hits. The first on a single from Jourdan and then on a double from Bouma to race out to a 3-0 lead.
After a pair of Bobcat walks to start the 2nd inning, Schalick drove in two runs on a triple to left field to take a 5-0 lead to the bottom of the 2nd.
Point Park plated its first run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Blake Ewing (3-3) had the first of his three hits in the game, and would eventually score on a wild pitch. The Pioneers cut further into the lead in the 3rd inning on Ewing’s RBI single which drove in Chris WIlliams.
The Bobcats answered with their largest inning of the game, plating four runs in the 4th inning. The big play of the inning came on a triple to left center from Jourdan. Bouma followed with an RBI single to LF to take a 9-2 lead.
Ewing continued his strong game with a single in the 5th inning. In the inning, Point Park closed the deficit with three runs, all coming on a home run from Treover Jones off the scoreboard in left field.
The middle of the Frostburg State order added three more hits and two more RBI in the 7th inning. Schalick doubled to left field and scored on a sacrifice fly from Holler, before Jourdan and Bouma both reached base with hits and scored, giving the Bobcats a 14-5 lead.
The Pioneers made one last attempt to get back into the game, plating three runs in the 8th. Luis Gonzalez singled and scored in the inning, before Chris Williams had the big hit of the inning with a two RBI double.
Game 7 – #3S Glenville State, def. #3N Point Park, 2-0

Glenville State stayed alive in the MEC Baseball Tournament in a pitching duel on Friday night eliminating Point Park, 2-0, at GoMart Ballpark.
Glenville State improves to 29-22 on the year, while Point Park finishes its season with a record of 30-22 overall. GSU will return to the diamond on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. against Frostburg State.
Pitching was the story of Friday’s nightcap for both ball clubs. Glenville State got efficient outings from Grant Landis, who started, and Zach Dellerman (10-2), who earned the win. Landis threw 40 pitches in four innings of work, while striking out three and giving up a single hit. Meanwhile, Dellerman worked five innings, allowing only two hits and striking out seven batters on 69 pitches.
On the hill for Point Park, Ethan Parker (3-4) picked up the loss in an otherwise stellar outing. Parker threw 6.1 innings, while striking out ten batters, scattering three hits, and giving up two runs. Ramon Rodriguez kept Point Park in striking distance. He tossed 1.2 innings while punching out three batters on strikes and not allowing a hit.
Glenville State jumped on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first and protected the lead the rest of the way. Jacob Meadows, who earned a lead-off walk, scored when Ashton Crace sliced a single to right field, giving GSU a 1-0 lead.
A key double play for Glenville State ended a threat from Point Park in the 3rd inning. Sebastian Hernandez got the first hit of the game for PP; however, Landis was able to induce an inning-ending double play.
Parker came up big in the 4th innings to prevent GSU from adding to its lead. After hitting the lead-off batter, Parker shut down the next three batters, including two via strikeout, to end the inning.
Glenville State added to its lead in the 5th innings. A pair of walks from Adam Bright and Zach Laurie gave GSU runners at first and second with one out. Bright advanced to third on a fielder’s choice play before scoring on Greyson McNeill’s RBI single to short center field for a 2-0 advantage.
Point Park’s last real chance to push a runner across came in the 8th inning. Carlos de la Vega reached on an error and then advanced to second on a single to left field by Feliz Gonzalez. That would be the last PP batter to reach base. Dellerman struck out the next two batters to end the 8th inning and closed out the game with a three-up, three-down inning in the 9th.
