BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The University of Charleston has earned the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Baseball Tournament. UC earned the MEC automatic qualifier after defeating Glenville State, 6-5, in the MEC Baseball Tournament Championship late Sunday night.
Charleston (25-29) is set for a matchup with the No. 3 seed Seton Hill (41-10). The first-round matchup in Atlantic Regional #2 is at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 14
th in Millersville, Pennsylvania. The number two seed and host of Atlantic Regional #2 is PSAC Champion Millersville (36-16). The loser of the Charleston/SHU match will play Millersville at 2 PM on Thursday.
The other regional in the Atlantic Region, Atlantic Regional #1 will also be a three-team regional and will be played at first seed West Chester (39-10). Four seed East Stroudsburg (36-14) will take on fifth seed Bloomsburg (27-19) in the first-round matchup.
The two regional winners will meet in the NCAA Atlantic Super Regional on May 21-23. The eight regional winners will advance to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships at the USA Baseball Training Facility in Cary, NC from May 30-June 6.
