MEC Announces 2026 Women’s Lacrosse Top Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference announced the 2026 Women’s Lacrosse individual postseason awards after Sunday’s championship.
 
Frostburg State captured two of the six honor. Neila Haney a senior from Lino Lakes, Minnesota was named the 2026 Attacker of the Year. Maya Mosslih, a junior from Easton, Maryland, was named the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Haney, played in 17 games and led the Bobcats to a MEC regular season and Tournament Championship. She also had a league best 67 goals. Mosslih, led the league in caused turnovers per game with 45 and was 3rd in ground balls per game with 46 on the season. She also helped Frostburg State win the MEC Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
 
Wheeling also captured two honors as Trinity Rose, a junior for Calgary, was named the 2026 Midfielder of the Year. Wheeling’s Gia Perkins, a sophomore from Farmingville, New York, was named the 2026 MEC Goalie of the Year.
 
Rose, was 3rd in the league in goals per game with 52 total while having 20 assists on the year. She was also 4th in ground balls per game and 3rd in caused turnovers per contest. Perkins, led the MEC in saves per game with 10.18 per contest and had 173 total saves.  
 
Newcomer and first year program Point Park also had two winners in Andrea Kinger, a freshman from Beaver Country, Pennsylvania, was named the 2026 MEC Freshman of the Year. Kinger, was 2nd in the league in goals per game with 3.13 and had a total of 47 goals. She also averaged 1.73 assists per game which was 5th in the MEC. Erik Ingram was named the 2026 MEC Coach of the Year, as voted by his peers. after leading the Pioneers in their first season of women’s lacrosse. All awards were determined by head coaches’ votes.
