MEC Women’s Lacrosse Championship Matchup is Set

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The 2026 MEC Women’s Lacrosse Championship game is set as No. 3 Dominican (Ca) will battle No. 1 Frostburg State this Sunday, May 3rd in a rematch of last year’s championship.
 
The Championship game will be hosted on the campus of Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland and is set for 1 p.m.
 
No. 3 Dominican (CA) def. No.2 Charleston, 15-13
 
Dominican (11-3) used 10 first half goals to jump out to an early lead over Charleston and held on for a two-point victory, 15-13, as they advanced to the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Championship game, this Sunday, May 3rd at 1 p.m.
 
Charleston after trialing 10-4 at the break, opened the third quarter by scoring four straight goals, with tow coming from Madison Partridge, as they pulled within two, 10-8. However, Dominican would answer by scoring three goals to end the quarter and take a 13-8 lead into the fourth.
 
In the fourth, again UC would come roaring back and pull with two, 13-15 with 40 seconds to play, but the time would expire as Dominican advances to the MEC Championship game.
 
Dominican tallied 23 shots while Charleston had 19 in the contest. The Golden Eagles had the advantage in draw controls 13-12.
 
Dominican’s Kyra Evans had three goals and an assist in the win. While Morgan Newkirk also had three goals and Alayna Cipolla had three goals and two assists. Goalie, Katherine Chavez had five saves in the game.
 
Charleston’s Madison Partridge had four goals while Alyse Weber had three goals. Darby Stolz also had three goals for UC and Hayden Slinkard finished with five assists. UC’s goalie Megan Liston tallied four saves in the contest.
 
No. 1 Frostburg State def. No. 4 Wheeling, 17-9
 
Frostburg State used an 11 goal first half as they advanced to the 2026 MEC Women’s Lacrosse Championship game on Thursday night as they defeated Wheeling, 17-9.
 
Frostburg State would add six more goals in the third and two in the fourth as they rolled to the victory.
 
Frostburg State was led by Neila Haney with six goals and three assists in the win. Delaney Burrows chipped in with three goals and an assist. The Bobcats also had three other players with two goals in the victory.
 
Goalie, Liz Amos, had nine saves in the win.
 
Wheeling was led by Trinity Rose with four goals and two assists. Sophia Cirone had two goals and two assists for the Cardinals. Giavonna Perkins had 11 saves for Wheeling.
 
Frostburg State out shot Wheeling, 45-27, in the game.
