BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Five Mountain East Conference athletes will compete in this week’s NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day event will be held May 21-23 in Emporia, Kansas at Welch Stadium. Emporia State University will serve as the host of the championships.
A pair of men’s student-athletes and a trio of women’s student-athletes qualified for the NCAA championships. Charleson’s Mathew Meli, Colette Patti, and Mia Huber; Glenville State’s Janae Scott; and West Virginia Wesleyan’s Michael Hansford.
For each individual event contested, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted, and for the heptathlon and decathlon the top 16 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
