BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Softball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Frostburg State’s Arden Miller has been named the MEC Softball Player of the week while Charleston’s Addison Mass has been named the MEC Softball Pitchers of the Week.
 
Miller, a senior from Newbury Park, California, led Bobcats offense during their 4-2 week, batting .450 with 4 extra base hits, 7 RBI, and 5 runs scored. In game two against Shippensburg, she hit a pair of two-run home runs, providing four RBI in the team's 5-4 victory. She added a 2-for-4 performance in game one against Glenville, hitting a double while scoring a run and having an RBI in the 10-8 win. 
 
Mass, a senior from Ringwood, Illinois, went 2-0 on the mound for the Golden Eagles. She threw a complete game no-hitter against Salem to go along with 11 strikeouts. Then against Point Park, she threw another complete game with seven strikeouts allowing just four hits. Overall, in the two games, she had 18 strikeouts.
