BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Softball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Frostburg State’s Olivia Stetler has been named the MEC Softball Player of the week while Charleston’s Cali Masters has been named the MEC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Stetler, a senior from Leesburg, New Jersey, helped lead FSU to a 4-0 weekend, hitting .583 with three extra base hits and four RBI. In the second game against West Liberty, she hit a two-run home run, while in game one against Wheeling, she went 3-for-3 with two doubles.
Masters, a freshman from Belmont, West Virginia, pitched 14.0 innings and picking up two wins on the mound. She struck out 12 batters allowing no earned runs, and just six hits, while walking five batters.
