Miller, Mass Named MEC Softball of the Week Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Softball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Frostburg State’s Arden Miller has been named the MEC Softball Player of the week while Charleston’s Addison Mass has been named the MEC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Miller, a senior outfielder from Newbury Park, California, helped the Bobcats to a 5-1 record over the weekend, hitting .421 with 8 hits, 3 XBH, 7 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. She went 4-for-4 against Elizabeth City State with a double and a home run, producing 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in the 9-0 victory. In team's 6-5 comeback win over Mansfield, she led off the bottom of the 7th with a single and eventually came in to score the walk-off run, having trailed 5-0 after three innings. Added a pair of walks and a stolen base to her totals. 
 
Mass, a senior Ringwood, Illinois, helped the Golden Eagles earn two wins on the mound. Mass pitched 14.0 total innings allowing 7 hits, along with just two runs, and 20 strike outs in wins over Ashland (4-1) and Ohio Dominican (11-4). Mass totaled 12 strike outs against Ashland. She also sits at 5-0 on season.
