Schalick, Boyce Named MEC Baseball Players of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Frostburg State’s Jackson Schalick has been named the MEC Baseball Player of the Week while Point Park’s Harold Boyce has been named the MEC Pitcher of the Week.

Schalick, a junior from Elmer, New Jersey, helped the Bobcats to a 3-1 record over the weekend, batting .455 with 4 runs scored and 7 RBI. He tallied three extra base hits on a pair of doubles and a home run, twice recording three RBI in a game. In the team's 4-3 victory over Glenville State, he had a lead-off double in the bottom of the seventh and scored the winning run in walk-off fashion.

Boyce, a senior from Bakersfield, California, threw a no-hitter on Friday afternoon against WV Wesleyan, allowing just two base runners while striking out five. It was Point Park's first no-hitter since 2018.
