BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Swimmer of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Davis & Elkins swept the league’s weekly swimming awards, with Leonardo Oshiro taking home MEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week and Lauren Lockwood being named the MEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

Oshiro, a freshman from Brazil, helped in three relay victories for Davis & Elkins: the 300-yard backstroke relay (2:46.00), the 300-yard breakstroke relay (2:59.91), and the 400-yard medley relay (3:50.83).

Lockwood, a sophomore from Barboursville, West Virginia, helped the Senators to a pair of wins in the season opener: the 300-yard butterfly relay (3:21.04) and the 300-yard backstroke relay (3:13.01).
