Swimming & Diving Championships: Day 3

CANTON, Ohio – Frostburg State enters the final day of the of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference/Mountain East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships as the MEC's high-scoring team among men's and women's programs. The four-day event is being held at C.T. Branin Natatorium, and is being hosted by Malone University. The G-MAC has four teams competing, while the MEC has six representatives.

The event concludes Saturday. Frostburg State sits in third place out of 10 teams on the men's side, trailing Findlay and Hillsdale. On the women's side, Findlay leads over Ashland, with Frostburg State sitting in third ahead of fellow MEC schools Fairmont State and Wheeling. 

Nate Canapp was one of the standouts for Frostburg State during Friday's third day of competition, finishing runner-up in the Men's 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:38.94. Also on the men's side, Fairmont State had two stars in the 100 Yard Backstroke, as sophomore Carter Redelman finished runner-up ahead of teammate Patrick Fubio, who placed third. 

On the women's side, the Frostburg State quartet of Lydia Nebiolo, Taylor Emrich, Jayme Meadows, and Genevieve Rippeon finished third in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay. Rippeon, a freshman, also finished third in the 500 Yard Freestyle, trailing swimmers from Hillsdale and Findlay.
