MEC Announces 2025 Baseball All-Conference, Individual Awards

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — On the eve of the Mountain East Conference Baseball Championship, the MEC announced Tuesday afternoon its 2025 all-conference team and individual postseason honors.

The teams were determined via a vote of the league's 11 head coaches.

Point Park's Jared Campbell is the 2025 MEC Player of the Year, while Frostburg State ace Patrick Bauer was voted the MEC Pitcher of the Year. West Liberty's Tyler Skeen is this season's Freshman of the Year, and Point Park's Loren Torres has been chosen as the Coach of the Year by his peers.

Campbell, a 5-foot-11 senior, ranks among the MEC’s offensive leaders across the board. The native of Sunrise, Florida, enters postseason play with a .372 batting average, along with 14 home runs, 50 RBIs, 10 steals, and a 1.232 OPS.

Bauer has been stellar for the Bobcats this season. The 6-8 hurler is 9-1 with a 1.82 ERA across 59 and 1/3 innings. He has allowed more than two earned runs in only one start — the first of the season on Feb. 24. He has 85 strikeouts, including a trio of double-digit performances.

Skeen led West Liberty in wins and innings pitched in his first collegiate season. The 5-9 right-hander struck out 53 batters and tossed a pair of complete games.

Torres guided Point Park to the best record in the league and the MEC North Division title in the program’s inaugural MEC baseball season. The Pioneers are 37-13 overall, including 22-6 in conference action. PPU enters Wednesday’s MEC tournament opener — against Concord at 10 a.m. at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia — on an eight-game conference winning streak.

Fifteen of the 16 All-MEC first team players will participate in this week's MEC Baseball Championship, which runs from Wednesday through Sunday at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia. No. 1 overall Point Park University, an MEC newcomer which finished the regular season with the best overall league record, led the way with four first team all-conference selections.
