BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Concord’s Demetri Jamison is this week’s MEC Player of the Week with Davis & Elkins’ Cooper Blackburn and Eli Brogan of West Virginia Wesleyan sharing MEC Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Jamison, a senior outfielder from Mechanicsville, Md., batted an even .500 (5-for-10) in a four-game weekend series against West Virginia Wesleyan. He launched solo home runs in back-to-back games in the series and drove in a total of three runs.
 
Blackburn, a sophomore right-hander from Steubenville, Ohio, scattered five hits in a complete-game 3-1 victory against Charleston. He struck out three batters and gave up only one walk, facing just one batter over the minimum through the first six innings.
 
Brogan, a senior pitcher from Alkol, W.Va., led Wesleyan to a 1-0 win against Concord by hurling a 7-inning complete-game shutout against the MEC’s top hitting team. Brogan scattered five hits and recorded three strikeouts in the route-going performance.
