BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s MEC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
The MEC Baseball Player of the Week award went to Jared Campbell of Point Park University with Concord University’s Jake Robinson claiming MEC Pitcher of the Week honors.
Campbell, a senior outfielder from Sunrise, Fla., earned his second weekly award of the season with another big week for the Pioneers. Campbell batted .533 (8-for-15) in five games with an eye-popping 1.267 slugging percentage. The Point Park slugger scored eight runs and drove in nine more while mashing out three home runs, a triple and four singles.
A sophomore right-hander from Raleigh, N.C., Robinson hurled six scoreless innings in leading Concord to a big conference win against Fairmont State. Robinson scattered four singles and fanned seven in helping the Mountain Lions post their first shutout victory since the 2023 season.
