BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Swimmer of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Frostburg State swept this week’s award, as Tory Reynolds was named the MEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. While Genna Rippeon has earned the MEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the second straight week.
Reynolds, a junior from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, had the Bobcats lone individual win in the meet against IUP, taking the 50-meter butterfly in 26.75. He also placed second in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 31.84 and was part of the runner-up 200 free relay team at 1:40.82.
Rippeon, a sophomore from Ellicott City, Maryland, won two events in team's meet against IUP, securing the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:11.68 and the 100 free with a time of 1:00.92. She was also a part of the 200 free relay team that placed second in 1:54.92, losing out on first by .09 seconds.
