BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Fairmont State’s Josie Nobbe is the MEC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, and Concord’s Meg Williams is the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.
Nobbe, a junior from Greensburg, Indiana, led the Falcons’ offense in a pair of wins last week. She recorded 10 kills and a .500 hitting percentage against Salem, and nine kills and a .353 hitting percentage in a victory at Point Park. She also had a trio of blocks and eight digs in the two matches combined.
Williams, a junior from Shady Spring, West Virginia, posted double-doubles in both of Concord’s wins last week. She narrowly missed a 20-20 game with 18 kills and a season-best 19 digs in a five-set win against West Virginia Wesleyan. She also recorded 12 kills and 13 digs in a sweep at Davis & Elkins.
