BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Notre Dame College’s Aaron Miranda has been named the MEC Baseball Player of the Week, while Concord’s Rylee Nicholas has claimed Pitcher of the Week accolades.
 
The MEC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Miranda, a freshman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, helped the Falcons go 1-1 against Ohio Dominican this past week. He was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with five RBI’s, two doubles and had the walk-off hit which gave NDC a 14-13 win. The walk-off completed a five-run comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning.
 
Nicholas, a junior from Summersville, West Virginia, tossed seven innings in a 3-1 win over D’Youville. He struck out five batters while scattering six hits. The win moved Nicholas to 2-0 on the mound this season.
