BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Liberty’s James Salvatori has been named the Mountain East Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while West Virginia State’s Chase Norris has claimed MEC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Salvatori, a junior from Wheeling, West Virginia, helped the Hilltoppers’ go 2-2 this week with a pair of victories over Davis & Elkins. At the plate, Salvatori went 7-for-18 with a double and two home runs, to go along with eight RBI’s, four runs scored, and a stolen base.
Norris, a senior from St. Albans, West Virginia, tossed a complete game 2-1 victory over Fairmont State this past weekend. Norris matched his career-high with eight strikeouts in the win. In the game, he allowed just four hits and gave up one walk. He finished the contest by striking out the final frame.
