Swimming & Diving Championships: Day 3 Recap

CANTON, Ohio – Five Mountain East Conference swimmers finished with third-place finishes on Day 3 of the Great Midwest-Mountain East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday in Canton.
 
After 30 events, the University of Findlay sits in first place on the women’s leaderboard with 1472 points, followed by Hillsdale (1160), Frostburg State (712.5), Ashland (460) and Fairmont State (416).
 
On the men’s team leaderboard, the University of Findlay is in first place with 1435 points, followed by Frostburg State (973), Ashland (903), Fairmont State (514) and Davis & Elkins (426).
 
Following Saturday’s events, the MEC program with the most team points will earn the 2024 Mountain East Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
 
Individually, day three was headlined by Frostburg State’s Nate Canapp (3rd, Men’s 500 Free), Fairmont State’s Patrick Fubio (3rd, Men’s 100 Backstroke), Davis & Elkins’ Enrique Garcia (3rd, Men’s 100 Breaststroke), Frostburg State’s Kendall Hooper (3rd, Women’s 200 Butterfly), and Notre Dame’s Luis Miguel Delgado (3rd, Men’s 200 Butterfly).
 
In addition, Frostburg State place third in the men’s and women’s 800 freestyle relays.
 
The final day of action is set for Saturday with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday’s events include the 1650 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke and 400 free relay.
