BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Fairmont State swept this week’s Mountain East Conference weekly swimming honors, the league announced on Monday. Patrick Fubio was named the Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while teammate Mia Abruzzino claimed the Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.

Fubio, a junior from Clarksburg, West Virginia, had two first place individual finishes and anchored the 400 Free Relay against Wheeling over the weekend. He took first in the 100 back with a time of 54.73, while also touching the wall first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.18. Fubio also anchored the 400 free relay, as the Falcons took first place with a time of 3:27.02.
Abruzzino, a sophomore from Fairmont, West Virginia, recorded a first and second place finish while also anchoring the 400 Freestyle Relay for the Falcons. She took first place with a time of 2:04.49 in the 200 free while taking second place in the 500 free with a time of 5:35.71. She also anchored the 400 free relay, helping the Falcons take first with a time of 3:52.15.
