West, McCarley Garner MEC Baseball Honors

MEC Player of the Week is presented by The Health Plan

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The University of Charleston’s Kyle West has been named the MEC Baseball Player of the Week, while Wheeling’s Kody McCarley earned the MEC Pitcher of the Week. 
 
The MEC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week are presented by The Health Plan.
 
West, a sophomore from Hedgesville, West Virginia, led UC to a 5-1 week. He hit .364 with a .517. on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. West tallied eight RBI’s, scored nine runs, with four home runs, and a triple. He also tallied six walks and stole five bases. 
 
McCarley, a junior from Trenton, Ohio, picked up a win on the mound Sunday against West Virginia Wesleyan. He tossed his fourth complete game effort as he went 8.0 innings allowing just one unearned run on three hits, while striking out nine, and walked just three batters.
