BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- UNC Pembroke's Gillian Manning has been named Mountain East Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, and Davis & Elkins' Garett Vondrasek was selected as the league's Men's Simmer of the Week.
Manning, a senior from Fayetteville, N.C., has established five new records during the last two weeks of the regular season. She's won eight individual events and reached NCAA 'B' times in the 200 and 500 freestyle events, as well as 200 butterfly.
Vondrasek, a freshman from Jacksonville, Fla., had a pair of individual wins and a runner-up finish in D&E's dual win over Frostburg State over the weekend. He won the 200 fly (2:16.68) and the 100 fly (55.87), and was second in the 200 free (1:55.03). He was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that posted a win for the Senators.
