Stolz, Kinger, Hillman, and Perkins Earn Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has selected the winners of this week’s MEC Player of the Week awards for women’s lacrosse. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Charleston’s Darby Stolz and Point Park’s Andrea Kinger have been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Co-Offensive Players of the Week while Charleson’s Madelyn Hillman and Wheeling’s Giavonna Perkins have been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Stolz, a senior from Scarborough, Maine, had four goals and two ground balls. Against Wheeling, she had five goals, two assists, and a ground ball. Overall, she finished the week with nine goals, two assists, and three ground balls as UC went 1-1.
 
Kinger, a freshman from Beaver County, Pennsylvania, helped PPU go 1-1 this week scoring nine goals and passed out five assists. She also had three groundballs. She began the week with four goals and four assists against WV Wesleyan on Thursday, before adding five goals and one assists on Sunday against D&E.
 
Hillman, a freshman from Ontario, New York, had 34 draw controls this week, including a possible NCAA record. She had 10 draw controls against Frostburg, and 24 draw controls against Wheeling (possibly tied NCAA all-time record).
 
Perkins, a sophomore from Farmingville, New York, was a steady presence in net this week, leading the Cardinals to a 1-1 record against Davis & Elkins and Charleston. She would finish the week with 25 saves on 54 shots faced to finish with a .463 save percentage for the week. In the win over Davis & Elkins, she would finish with 11 saves on 20 shots faced and added 14 saves against Charleston to round out the week.
