MEC Wrestlers Set for NCAA DII National Championships

Findlay, Ohio – The Glenville State Pioneers wrestling team claimed another NCAA DII Super Region III for the second straight year while six individuals qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships on March 13-14th in South Dakota.
 
Zachary Parker and Nick Johnson both claimed individual championships for the Pioneers.
 
West Liberty finished 4th overall with 118.5 team points and had six qualifying wrestlers for the NCAA DII National Championships. The Hilltoppers had three individual champions in Khyvon Grace, Nico Taddy, and Oliver Byerly.
 
Salem finished 9th overall while Davis & Elkins placed 11th overall.
 
In the NCAA DII Super Region I, Frostburg State scored 56.6 total points as they finished 6th overall while Fairmont State finished 8th, and Wheeling placing 10th overall.
 
Frostburg State’s Tanner Halling stayed undefeated on the season as he won the 133-bracket while four other Bobcat wrestlers placed at DII Super Region I.
 
For Fairmont State, Colton Stoneking qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships as he placed 2nd. This is Stoneking’s third-straight year qualifying.
