GLENVILLE, W.Va. – West Liberty University claimed the 2026 Mountain East Conference Wrestling Championship on Saturday afternoon held inside the Waco Center on the campus of Glenville State University.
The Hilltoppers won their fourth MEC championship, the first one since 2023. West Liberty had seven wrestlers qualify in 10 of the championship matches, winning five titles: 149 pounds, 157, 165, 174, and 184.
Host Glenville State finished runner-up with 137.5 points, while Frostburg State placed third with 107.0 points. The full standings are below.
Fairmont State’s Colton Stoneking won the MEC Most Outstanding Wrestler trophy for the second straight year, as voted by the league’s head coaches. Stoneking defeated Glenville State’s Ethan Hardy to win the 141 pound title.
Four different programs celebrated an individual champion at Saturday’s event: Glenville State, Frostburg State, Fairmont State, and West Liberty.
