Swimming & Diving Championships: Day 3

CANTON, Ohio – Davis & Elkins enters the final day of the G-MAC/MEC Swimming & Diving Championships as the MEC’s high-scoring team on the men’s side sitting in 3rd place overall. While on the women’s side Frostburg State is currently in 4th overall.
 
Rounding out the men’s team rankings is Wheeling in 4th, Frostburg State sits at 5th, Salem is in 6th. They are followed by Fairmont State in 6th and West Virginia Wesleyan is in 9th place.
 
For the women, Fairmont State is in 5th, flowed by Wheeling in 6th. Davis & Elkins is currently in 8th, followed by Salem and West Virginia Wesleyan.
 
Frostburg State’s Genevieve Rippeon won the women’s 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:00.94 while Delaney Householder of Fairmont State took 3rd place in the event. Householder then took 3rd in the women’s 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.49.
 
In the women’s 100 Breaststroke, Giulia Liberti of Wheeling placed 5th with a time of 1:07.30.
 
Jenna Handwerger of Frostburg State took 3rd in the women’s 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:07.98.
 
Frostburg State took 3rd in the women’s 800 Freestyle Relay while Fairmont State placed 5th and Wheeling took 6th overall.
 
On the men’s side, Wheeling’s Segmen Duygun took 2nd in the men’s 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:39.27.
 
Davis & Elkins’ Jan Spehar took 2nd in the men’s 100 Backstroke with a time of 49.98 while Sean Filipovits of Frostburg State placed 6th overall.
 
While West Virginia Wesleyan’s Yigit Ataman took 2nd in the men’s 100 Breaststroke with a time of 55.38. Leonardo Oshire placed 3rd in the event with Charlie Whitsed tied for 4th overall.
 
In the men’s 200 Butterfly, Frostburg’s Dylan King took 4th overall with a time of 1:53.60 with fellow Bobcat Bradin Norris placed 8th in the event.
 
Davis & Elkins placed 2nd in the men’s 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 6:51.71 while Salem took 4th followed by Wheeling in 5th place.
