Fairmont State Captures MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University finished its sweep of Mountain East Conference titles, defeating Glenville State to win the 2025 MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship. The top-seeded and host Falcons led wire-to-wire and captured all six events inside Joe Retton Arena.

Fairmont State, which navigated the regular season undefeated in MEC play to win the title, led 37.200-36.125 after Compulsory, scoring 9.5 or better in two heats. The Falcons’ lead grew to 65.675-63.825 after Acro after Fairmont State recorded scores of 9.625, 9.300, and 9.550. Prior to intermission, both the Falcons and Pioneers posted a trio of heats of at least 9.5 scores, which gave the hosts a 94.950-92.800.

After the break, Fairmont State, which entered the event ranked No. 5 nationally in the NCATA poll, took command. A trio of scores of 9.3 or better in the Toss heats set the stage for the Falcons’ performance in Tumbling, and Fairmont State outscored Glenville State 53.525-48.325 in the event to build a 176.725-168.300 lead heading into Team.

Saturday’s 2025 MEC Championship began with the Event Finals. Fairmont State led the way by winning eight of the events, followed by Glenville State’s four wins, Kutztown’s two wins, and West Liberty’s one individual title.

Prior to the MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling Championships, the league announced its annual award winners.
