Ikem, Foret Take Home MEC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Men’s Soccer Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Davis & Elkins’ Chinedu Ikem is the MEC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Frostburg State’s Jan Foret is the defensive honoree.

Ikem, a senior from Nigeria, scored in each of the Senators’ wins last week. Ikem scored a goal on three shots in Davis & Elkins’ 3-1 win against Point Park, and added another goal in a 4-0 win against Wheeling.

Foret led the Bobcats to a 1-0-1 week, which included a 0-0 draw against No. 5 Charleston. Foret made a pair of saves against Wheeling, and then made five saves against UC, the first time the Bobcats have ever held the Golden Eagles without a goal.
