Gianinetto, Ehart Take Home MEC Weekly Soccer Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Fairmont State’s Valentina Gianietto is the MEC Offensive Player of the Week, while Frostburg State’s Skylar Ehart is the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Gianinetto, a sophomore from Katy, Texas, scored in each of the Falcons’ wins last week. She had a goal on two shots in a 2-0 win at Point Park, and then scored the opening goal in Fairmont State’s 4-0 win at home against Wheeling.

Ehart, a senior from Ellicott City, Maryland, helped Frostburg State to a pair of clean sheets last week. She played all 180 minutes of the Bobcats’ two matches — a 2-0 win at West Liberty and 0-0 draw against Point Park.
