BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Notre Dame College graduate student and linebacker Nate Moore has been named the 2022-23 MEC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Moore, from Rootstown, Ohio, was the 2022 MEC Defensive Player of the Year and was named to All-American teams by D2CCA, D2Football.com and the Don Hansen Football Gazette. He was also voted first team All-Super Region 1 by D2CCA and was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award, honoring the top small college defensive player. In his final season as a linebacker for NDC, Moore totaled 122 total tackles, including 70 solo stops and 15 tackles for loss. He ranked in the top 10 in the country in both solo and total tackles this season.
For his career, Moore is a four-time All-MEC standout and is the all-time career leader for career total (379) and solo (207) tackles at Notre Dame College.
Academically, Moore graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a 3.96 grade-point average. He’s also pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration at Notre Dame College. He is a two-time CSC Academic All-American and earned NDC’s President’s Award.
The MEC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of institutional administrators and the conference office.
