BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Liberty’s Chase Morgan has been named the Mountain East Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
The MEC Wrestler of the Week award is presented by The Health Plan.
 
Wrestling at 174 for the Hilltoppers this week, Morgan was one of six Hilltoppers to win their individual bracket at the John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace. Morgan went 4-0 to claim gold at 174-pounds. He started the day with a 17-4 decision and followed up that performance with 5-2 and 8-5 decisions in the quarterfinals and semifinals. Morgan won the title bout with a 3-2 decision over No. 9-ranked (Division III) Colby Morris, of Waynesburg.
