BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Fairmont State’s Patrick Fubio was voted the Mountain East Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Wheeling’s Jade Miller was recognized as the Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

Fubio, a junior from Clarksburg, W.Va., claimed two individual first-place finishes on Friday at Shippensburg. He was first to touch the wall in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.95), before adding a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (52.37) later in the meet. He also helped Fairmont State to a win in the 200-freestyle relay event (1:32.81).
Miller, a junior from Washington, Pa., helped Wheeling to a 3-0 week after picking up seven first-place finishes last week. On Friday in a tri-meet against Washington & Jefferson and Allegheny College, Miller turn first-place finishes in the 100 Butterfly (1:02.41), 100 Breaststroke (1:11.18), 100 IM (1:04.12) and 200 Medley Relay (1:58.31). On Saturday at WVU Tech, Miller was first to touch the wall in the 1000 Freestyle (11:58.41), 400 IM (5:04.24) and 400 Medley Relay (4:27.61).
