BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins' Jamiyah Johnson has been named Mountain East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
Johnson, a junior from Williamsburg, Va., averaged 27.5 points and 21.5 rebounds in two games last week for the Senators. In a loss against Notre Dame, Johnson was 11-of-15 from the floor on her way to 24 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to go with two blocks, two steals and three assists. In a win over Urbana, she was 13-of-18 from the field and poured in 31 points. She also pulled down 26 rebounds, including 14 on the offensive end. The 26 rebounds are third-most in a game in league history.

Rachel Laskody (FAIR) averaged 26.5 points and 15.0 rebounds as the Falcons went 1-1 ... Dakota Reeves (UC) set a MEC record with 10 three-pointers as the Golden Eagles defeated Wheeling ... Seina Adachi (NDC) averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals in a 2-0 week ... Re'Shawna Stone (GSC) averaged 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists as the Pioneers went 1-1 ... Chloe Cheresne (WVSU) scored 31 in a win over West Liberty ... Sylvia Hudson (UU) averaged 24.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in two games last week ... Brittany Stawovy (WVWC) poured in 31 points and had nine rebounds in a loss to Urbana.
