FAIRMONT, W. Va. -  The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan. 

Fairmont State’s middle blocker Alexa Martin is the MEC Offensive Player of the Week, while Charleston’s defensive specialist Sahana Rajesh is the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Martin, a senior from Bridgeport, West Virginia, recorded 15 kills with no errors for the Fighting Falcons. The middle blocker earned a .536 hitting percentage and 2.5 kills per set, helping Fairmont earn three wins throughout the week.  

Rajesh, a freshman from Los Angeles, California, totaled 66 digs and averaged 6.25 digs per set. The outside hitter/defensive specialist’s top performance of the week came against Fayetteville State where she earned 26 digs.
