FAIRMONT, W. Va. -  The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan. 

Fairmont State’s Natalie Zemba is the MEC Offensive Player of the Week, while West Virginia State’s Lilly Adkins is the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Zemba, a senior middle blocker from Chardon, Ohio led the Falcons to a 3-1 opening weekend record. The senior was named to the Fairmont State Classic All-Tournament Team for her outstanding efforts throughout the weekend. She had 31 kills on 60 attempts, earning her a .433% hitting percentage. 

Adkins, a sophomore libero/defensive specialist from Huntington, West Virginia, guided her team to an undefeated weekend. Adkins averaged 4.62 digs and 0.92 assists per set. She had a match-high 26 digs against West Chester, totaling 60 digs on the weekend.
