KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Glenville State advances onto the NCAA DII Softball Finals after defeating Kutztown, 7-3 in game three of the NCAA DII Softball Super Regionals on Friday evening at the North Campus Softball Field in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
The game three win came after Glenville State fell in similar fashion, 7-3 in game two of the NCAA DII Softball Super Regional to Kutzown earlier Friday afternoon.

Glenville State fell to Kutztown, 7-3 in game two of the NCAA DII Softball Super Regional on Friday afternoon in Kutztown, forcing game three.
GSU had the first hit of the day, as Emma McLean earned an RBI off of a double. The Pioneers held a 1-0 lead throughout the second inning.
Kutztown responded with a two-run RBI at the top of the third, taking their first lead of the day, 2-1.
Glenville State quickly tied the game, 2-2 after Delaney Warnick homered to center field. In the top of the fourth, Alexis Harward added a single RBI as GSU retook the lead, 3-2.
The Golden Bears tacked on five unanswered runs throughout the sixth and seventh innings with a single home run RBI from Jamie Madara, and double home run RBIs from Alexa Stevens and Sophia Collins, respectively.
McLean went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Warnick and Haward recorded an RBI in the contest. Megan Stump pitched four innings while allowing five hits and four runs.

The Pioneers struck first with back-to-back RBI singles down the right field line from Warnick and Zailees Seda, leading 2-0 early in the first inning. Warnick added her second home run of the day, stretching GSU’s lead 3-0 bottom of the third inning.
Glenville State added insurance throughout the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings, with McLead adding a two-run homer to left center in the bottom of the fourth followed by a two-run RBI from Seda, leading 7-0.
Kutztown’s Alexa Stevens attempted a comeback with a homer to right field at the top of the sixth, as the Golden Bears trailed 7-1. A pair of RBI’s from Kutztown’s Samantha Paetow and Ashley Schulz at the top of the seventh were not enough to stop GSU as the Pioneers claimed a spot in the NCAA DII Softball Finals, 7-3.
Warnick went 2-for-3, with two RBIs and a home run. Additionally, Zeda contributed three RBIs while McLean added two. Kylie Burdick pitched all seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four batters.
Next up, Glenville State will head to the NCAA DII Softball Finals on May 28 through June 3 at the Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
