Charleston and Wheeling Set for NCAA DII Men's Golf Championship

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The NCAA DII Men’s Golf Championships is set to begin Monday and continuing through Friday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. 
 
From the Mountain East Conference, regional champion Charleston and Wheeling qualified as a team while Hector Arriaga (Glenville State) and Adam Gill (West Liberty) were selected to compete as individuals. 
 
The two qualifying teams and individuals mark the most to be selected to compete at the national championship from the league.
 
Charleston looks to tee off at 12:20 p.m., trailed by Wheeling at 1:15 p.m. The teams will be followed by individual competition with West Liberty’s Gill at 4:33 p.m. ET, and Glenville’s Arriage at 4:55 p.m. 
 
The first three days of competition will feature three rounds of stroke play, with the top four golfers scoring for their team in each round. After the three rounds are complete, the top eight teams will move on to match play on Thursday and Friday. This consists of an eight-team tournament bracket, with teams golfers going head-to-head over 18 holes. Golfers that win the most head-to-head match-ups will advance onto the finals on Friday.
