Karungagran, Ramos Bentham Earn MEC Tennis Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s Male and Female Tennis Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Fairmont State Keagan Karungagran has been named the MEC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week while Frostburg State’s Julia Ramos Bentham has been named the MEC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the third consecutive week.
 
Karungagran, a sophomore, helped Fairmont State earn a 4-3 win over Walsh. He went 2-0 on the day. At second doubles, Karungagaran and Gabriel Masu defeated Lukas Kohler/ Ethan Milgan by score of 6-1. At second singles, Karungagaran bested Joan Dasi in three sets, 3-6/6-3/10-0.
 
Ramos Bentham, a senior from Lloret de Mar, Spain, helped led the team to a 5-2 win over Bloomsburg. She secured a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, then won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 singles to go unbeaten at the meet.
