BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has selected the winners of this week’s MEC Player of the Week awards for women’s lacrosse. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Davis & Elkins’ Talia Berardo has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while fellow Senator Zoe Mackey has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Berardo, a red-shirt sophomore from Beekman, New York, led Davis & Elkins to a 2–0 week with dominant offensive performances in wins over Emory & Henry and U of DC. She totaled four goals and six assists for 10 points, contributing to 10 of the team’s 40 goals. Berardo recorded seven points against Emory & Henry (two goals, five assists) and added three points versus UDC (two goals, one assist). She finished the week with 18 shots, 12 on goal (.667 SOG%), while also contributing 13 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Her all-around impact was instrumental in the Senators’ 2-0 opening weekend.
Mackey, a junior from Morgantown, West Virginia, anchored the Davis & Elkins defense during a 2–0 week, helping limit opponents to just six total goals in wins over Emory & Henry and U of DC. She recorded 15 ground balls, 12 draw controls, and three caused turnovers across the two games, consistently disrupting opposing attacks and controlling possession. Mackey also added two assists while committing zero turnovers, highlighting her efficiency and two-way impact.
