BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has selected the winners of this week’s MEC Player of the Week awards for women’s lacrosse. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Charleston’s Hayden Slinkard has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while fellow Golden Eagle Megan Liston has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Slinkard, a senior attacker from Cary, North Carolina, played two games on Sunday. In the first contest against UVA Wise, she had 3 assists, 5 ground balls, and 2 caused turnovers. Later that day, in. the win against Emory & Henry, she had 2 goals, 6 assists, 2 ground balls, and 1 caused turnover.
Liston, a senior goalkeeper from Pickerington, Ohio, played the entire game against Uva-Wise while having seven saves in the contest.
