Blissenbach, Dinwiddie Named MEC Co-Wrestlers of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winner of this week’s Wrestler of the Week. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
West Liberty’s Gabe Blissenbach and Wheeling’s Jack Dinwiddie have been named the MEC Co-Players of the Week.
 
Blissenbach, a sophomore from Lisbon, Ohio, won the 174-pound champion at the Fairmont State Open. Blissenbach powered through the field to capturing the 174-pound title, earning multiple bonus-point victories along the way and closing out the championship with a dominant technical fall. 
 
Dinwiddie, a freshman from Wadsworth, Ohio, led the Cardinals at the Fairmont State Open, earning his first collegiate weight class victory. He won the gold in the 141-pound weight class after finishing 4-0 across four matches. He would earn two MEC victories along the way, including a tech fall against West Liberty's Matt Englehardt. He would add decisions over Unattached wrestler Johnny Bainac and Ethan Mitchell. He improved his record to 15-6 on the season with the effort.
