BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Frostburg State basketball standout Emilee Weakley has been voted the Mountain East Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2024-25, the league announced Thursday morning.
The native of Luray, Virginia, enjoyed a decorated career with the Bobcats, capping her final season by being named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-American first team in 2024-25. She also received All-American recognition from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D2CCA this season, while earning All-MEC first team honors. Weakley averaged 26.2 points per game over three seasons, the second-most in Division II history, and became the first Frostburg State player to eclipse 2,000 career points.
Off the court, Weakley maintained a 3.912 grade-point average as a Business Administration major. She is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, which recognizes excellence in business leadership and academic achievement, and volunteers to assist with food drives and special needs children.
Weakley earned All-American recognition in all three seasons of competition at Frostburg State. Two years ago, she was named the MEC Freshman of the Year. Last season, Weakley was voted as the MEC Player of the Year.
This season, Weakley averaged 27.4 points per game — the most in Division II. She also averaged 8.6 rebounds per game, shot 47.5 percent from the floor, 36.3 percent from 3-point range, and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The MEC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of institutional administrators and the conference office.
