MEC Announces Softball Top Honors, All-Conference Teams

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — On the eve of the 2025 Mountain East Conference Softball Championship, the league announced its all-conference team and individual award-winners.

Among the four Top Honors, a different MEC school is represented among the winners. Davis & Elkins’ Linzey Allard is Player of the Year; Charleston’s Addison Mass is Pitcher of the Year; Fairmont State’s Alexa Foresha is Freshman of the Year; and Glenville State’s Sara Scoone is Coach of the Year.

Allard, a senior from San Jose, California, batted .403 with 13 home runs and 42 RBIs for the Senators. She ranked in the top 10 in the MEC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, runs, hits, RBIs, doubles, and homers.

Mass, a junior from Ringwood, Illinois, finished the season with the best ERA in the MEC at 1.82, with a 20-4 record in 26 appearances for the Golden Eagles. While throwing 154 innings, Mass held batters to a league-low batting average and struck out an MEC-leading 157 hitters.

Foresha, a native of Follansbee, West Virginia, made an immediate impact for the Falcons, batting .368 with six home runs and 38 RBIs. She ranked in the top 10 in the MEC in batting average, slugging percentage, RBIs, doubles, and home runs.

Scoone led Glenville State to the MEC South Division regular season title and a No. 1 seed in this week’s MEC Softball Championship, an event that will be held at the James Moyer Complex in Salem, Virginia. A year after the Pioneers set a program-best in wins in division finish during its time in the MEC, Scoone reset both marks. Glenville State won the MEC South Division for the first time and recorded its most wins in the MEC era with 34.

The full list of winners and All-MEC honorees can be found below. The All-MEC team features 15 first team selections and 15 second team selections, as voted by the league’s head coaches.
