NCAA DII Wrestling Nationals Set to Begin Friday

INDIANAPOLIS — The Mountain East Conference will feature 14 student-athletes competing at this weekend’s NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, which are set for Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at Corteva Coliseum.
 
Friday’s competition will begin at 10 a.m. (EST) with Championship Prelims and First Round matches. Starting at 5 p.m., on Friday, Championship Second Round and Consolation matches will take place.
 
Session 3 will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with Championship Semifinals and Consolation matches. The finals will begin at 7 p.m.
 
Eight of the 14 competitors captured the MEC Championship in their respective weight class: Glenville State’s Colton Drousias (125); Frostburg State’s Thierno Diallo (133); Fairmont State’s Colton Stoneking (141); Glenville State’s Guy DeLeonardis (157); Glenville State’s Hayden Pummel (174); West Liberty’s Ty McGeary (184); Glenville State’s Nicholas Johnson (197); and Glenville State’s Isaiha Casto (285).
 
Six MEC wrestlers earned seeds at D2 Nationals: Stoneking, who is a 5 seed; DeLeonardis, who is a 6 seed; Pummel, who is the top overall seed in his weight class; McGeary, who is also the top overall seed in his weight class; Glenville State’s Kyle Homet, who is seeded No. 8 in McGeary’s bracket; and Johnson, who is a 7 seed.
 
James Armstrong Jr. of West Liberty, Pummel, McGeary, and Stoneking, enter D2 Nationals after capturing regional championships.
 
McGeary is the reigning Division II Wrestler of the Year and is a two-time national champion. Last month, the West Liberty star became the first wrestler in MEC history to win four consecutive conference titles. McGeary is 30-1 this season.
 
Stoneking, who is 29-4, was named the MEC’s Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2025 MEC Championships.
