Down to the wire in the MEC

• All nine Mountain East Conference teams are in action in the last week of the regular season.
• Four contests are league games.
• Frostburg State and Charleston sit atop of the standings in the league at 6-1.
• West Virginia Wesleyan is still looking for its first win of 2025.

Notable

• Frostburg State is receiving votes in the AFCA Top 25 poll. The Bobcats have had two stints in the national rankings this season.
• Fairmont State running back Leonard Farrow is moving up the MEC record book lists in rushing. Entering the final weekend of play, Farrow ranks No. 6 in league history in rushing yards and No. 1 all-time in yards per carry. He needs exactly 100 all-purpose yards to crack the top 10 for a single season in that category. Farrow is the 11th player in league history with at least seven 100-yard rushing games with another opportunity this weekend to add to a banner season.
• On the national scene, Farrow ranks No. 3 in Division II in rushing yards and No. 4 all-purpose yards per game.
• Wheeling’s Jefferson Bretanys-Desca is the only MEC player averaging at least 10.0 tackles per game. He has surpassed 100 tackles on the 2025 season.
• West Virginia State wide receiver Amare Ary is also on the verge of joining an exclusive list. Ary needs 32 yards in this Saturday’s season finale to reach 1,000 yards. He would be the 21st receiver in MEC history to accomplish the feat.
• Fairmont State specialist Emmanuel Richardson is continuing his pursuit of perfection. Richardson has not missed an extra point attempt in 135 career tries — the most makes and attempts by an MEC kicker without a miss in league history.
• West Liberty’s Grant Thompson is one of three players with at least 10.0 tackles for a los in the MEC season, followed by Concord’s Nehemiah Scott and Fairmont State’s Nemo Roberts.
• Frostburg State running back Owen Doyle and Charleston running back Joshua Donald each had three touchdowns on the ground in Week 10, representing two of the six players who have accomplished the feat this season.
• Glenville State QB Anthony Garrett had five touchdown passes vs. Wheeling, the second player to toss that many scoring passes in a game this season.
• Concord’s Corey Radcliff is No. 5 in D-II in interceptions per game (0.56). Radcliff has five interceptions in nine games, tied for the MEC lead with Wheeling’s Leonard Sherrod III, who has set a school record for interceptions in a season.
• West Liberty running back Hunter Patterson had his streak of four consecutive 100-yard rushing performances end, but he has now scored a rushing touchdown in six straight games. Patterson is one of two MEC ball carriers who have surpassed 1,000 yards on the ground this season.
• Nationally, Patterson ranks No. 8 nationally in all-purpose yards per game. Patterson is the only player in the nation who has at least 1,000 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards.
• Four players enter the final weekend of the season tied for the MEC lead in sacks: Fairmont State’s Nemo Roberts, West Liberty’s Grant Thompson, and Frostburg State teammates Rainer Haveland and Christian Taylor.
• Glenville State running back Jeremiah King had his streak of a rushing touchdown in seven consecutive games snapped.
• UC’s Caleb Barringer is tied for second in D-II in kickoff returns for touchdowns with two. A total of 11 players have returned multiple kickoff returns for scores.
• West Virginia State wide receiver Amare Ary is fifth in D-II in receiving yards per game.
West Liberty’s Grant Thompson is the only player with at least three forced fumbles.
