BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The penultimate weekend of the Mountain East Conference football season will feature the co-leaders — Frostburg State and Charleston — hosting matchups with championship implications. The Bobcats and Golden Eagles are tied atop the MEC standings with two weeks to play, and both programs sport identical 5-1 records in the league. Frostburg State, which is receiving votes in the AFCA Top 25 poll, and defending champion UC share the lead, but a trio of teams are lurking one game behind: West Virginia State, Glenville State, and Wheeling.
The Yellow Jackets will hit the road to face Frostburg State with a chance to catch the Bobcats, while the Golden Eagles welcome West Liberty to West Virginia's capital city.
The regular season concludes on Saturday, Nov. 15.

• Fairmont State running back Leonard Farrow had a day against the Hilltoppers last Saturday, rushing for 270 yards and adding another 22 on receptions. He has the two best single-game rushing performances in the MEC this season and three of the top five.
• On the national scene, Farrow ranks No. 4 in Division II in rushing yards per game and all-purpose yards per game. He is the only player in D-II with at least 1,300 rushing yards and 150 receiving yards.
• Last weekend, Farrow recorded his third rush of at least 80 yards this season. The rest of the MEC has combined for one run of at least 80 yards.
• Concord’s Corey Radcliff is tied for No. 3 in D-II with five interceptions.
• Wheeling’s Connor Fitzpatrick scored 14 points in the Cardinals’ win against Concord, the most points scored by an MEC kicker this season.
• West Liberty QB Antevious Jackson piled up 415 yards of total offense last Saturday against Fairmont State, the second-best single-game performance by an MEC player this season and the fourth time a player has surpassed 400 total yards.
• Wheeling’s Jefferson Bretanys-Desca leads the MEC in tackles with 91.
• University of Charleston’s Jamal Wallace, Jr., scored three touchdowns against West Virginia Wesleyan, the 10th player to with three scores in a single game this season.
• West Liberty running back Hunter Patterson has four consecutive 100-yard rushing performances and has scored a rushing touchdown in five straight games.
• Nationally, Patterson has surged in the D-II rankings for all-purpose yardage, a category in which he ranks No. 7 nationally. Patterson is the only player in the nation who has at least 900 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards.
• UC’s Connor Lambert totaled 125 kickoff return yards against WVWC, the third-best single-game performance in the MEC in 2025.
• Glenville State running back Jeremiah King has recorded a rushing touchdown in seven consecutive games.
• West Liberty’s Grant Thompson leads the MEC in tackles for a loss (11.0).
• UC’s Caleb Barringer is tied for second in D-II in kickoff returns for touchdowns with two. A total of 11 players have returned multiple kickoff returns for scores.
• West Virginia State wide receiver Amare Ary is fourth in D-II in receiving yards per game (97.6).
• Concord quarterback Tyler Mizzell is ranked fifth nationally in total offense, averaging 306.9 yards per game.
• Fairmont State specialist Emmanuel Richardson is continuing his pursuit of perfection. Richardson has not missed an extra point attempt in 131 career tries — the most makes and attempts by an MEC kicker without a miss in league history.
