BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The University of Charleston travels to face the region’s top seed, Southern New Hampshire, in Sunday’s NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship Third Round.
UC, seeded No. 4 in the region, defeated Adelphi last Sunday at home to set up the trip to the northeast. The winner advances to the national quarterfinals set for Dec. 6.
The Golden Eagles are unbeaten in 21 matches this season with 17 wins and four draws. Charleston ranks second nationally in goal differential, with 47 goals scored and five allowed this season. UC leads all Division II programs in shutouts this season with 16. The Golden Eagles had seven players honored on the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region team. Goalkeeper Konstantinos Parisis, defender Franco Tradatti, and forward Sam Newell were first team selections. Defender Joao Silva, midfielder Caio Moraes, and forwards Martin Echerran and Tomas Petrungaro were second team picks. Parisis leads the nation in shutouts with 14.
Southern New Hampshire is 15-2-2 on the season. The Penmen defeated ninth-seeded Bridgeport, 1-0, in last weekend’s Second Round. SNHU had four players honored on the 2025 D2CCA Men’s Soccer East All-Region team: Gabriel Castro and Alex Pons on the first team, and Martin Fuentes and Philipp Herrmann on the second team. Fuentes and Herrmann are tied for the team lead in goals with 10 apiece. Castro, a midfielder, has scored five goals, while Pons, a defender, leads the team in minutes played.
