CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The University of Charleston took down Adelphi University on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, to advance to the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship third round.
Fourth-seeded UC will face the No. 1 seed in Super Region One, Southern New Hampshire, on Sunday, Nov. 30 in Manchester, New Hampshire. SNHU is 15-2-2 this season and lost in the NE10 Championship semifinals to Franklin Pierce.
In Sunday’s match at Welch Athletic Complex, the Golden Eagles and Panthers played a scoreless first half before UC (17-0-4) found the back of the net in the 78th minute when Allan Logrillo, a freshman from France, scored on an assist from Jack Allan. Charleston then sealed the victory in the 81st minute as Martin Echarren, the 2025 MEC Freshman of the Year, scored on an assist from Tomas Petrungaro and Samuel Montes.
Charleston out shot Adelphi, 12-5, with seven of the 12 shots on goal, while the Panthers had two shots on goal.
In the net for UC, Konstantino Parisis had a save while facing two shots.
Charleston will face Southern New Hampshire for a spot in the NCAA DII Quarterfinals on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m.
