BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Swimmer of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Fairmont State’s Vlad Fedoseev has been named the MEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Frostburg State’s Genna Rippeon is the MEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. 
Fedoseev, a graduate student from Russia, led Fairmont State with two individual wins and a relay victories against Shippensburg. Fedoseev won the 50 freestyle in 21.06 and led the 200 freestyle relay with 21.56. He holds the five fastest times in the MEC in the 50 freestyle this season, and also picked up a win in the 100 butterly with the fastest time in the MEC this season.
Rippeon, a sophomore from Ellicott City, Maryland, won four total events in Frostburg State’s 164-93 win against Davis & Elkins. She had individual wins in the 200 free, 500 free, and 200 individual medley. Rippeon, the MEC Women’s Swimming Freshman of the Year last season, was also a member of the winning 200 free relay team.
