Swimming & Diving Championships: Day 4

CANTON, Ohio – On the final day the G-MAC/MEC Swimming & Diving Championship Frostbug State’s Genevieve Rippeon won the Women’s 1650 Freestyle. Rippeon, was also named the Women’s Swimmer of the Meet which capped off the four day event at the C.T. Branin Natatorium. Fairmont State’s Delaney Householder won the women’s 200 Backstroke.
 
While on the men’s side, Davis & Elkins’ Payton Williamson took 2nd place in the 200 Backstroke while fellow Senator Leonardo Oshiro took 3rd in the 200 Breaststroke.
 
Frostburg State was the highest-scoring women’s team among MEC teams at the G-MAC/MEC Championships. The Bobcats finished with 846 points placing 4th overall. Fairmont State scored 643.50 points as they finished 5th, while Wheeling came in 6th with 495.50 points. Davis & Elkins finished with 412 points as they placed 7th, with Salem finishing 9th with 247 points, and West Virginia Wesleyan tallied 26 points.
 
On the men’s side, Davis & Elkins had the highest score of MEC institutions with 933.50 points, finishing 3rd. Wheeling scored 853.50 points placing 4th, with Frostburg State finishing 5th with 782.50 points. Salem tallied 574 points as they placed 6th overall with Fairmont State placing 7th with 378 points, and West Virginia Wesleyan finished with 255 points.
